General terms and conditions

In the general terms and conditions of the GNSK 2026 you will find all the information you need to know before you can register. So read this carefully!

Participation fee:

Athlete: €36,50
Team official*: €21,00

*Such as coach, trainer, manager, physio, etc

Note: In addition to the registration fee, there may be extra costs for accommodation and dinner. These will be displayed during the registration process.

General terms and conditions

Eligibility

Note: Participation for MBO students is currently a pilot! Specific rules regarding MBO students in teams and European competitions can be found in the document ‘Deelnamerecht’.

Participation in SSN-events is only possible if you meet following requirements:

a. You are a full-time MBO, HBO, or university student in the Netherlands, or you were a full-time MBO, HBO, or university student in the Netherlands in the calendar year preceding the current calendar year*;

b. 1. You will represent the city in which you are studying or studied the calendar year prior to the current calendar year; OR

2. You will represent the student sports board/organisation, which is a member of SSN,

where you have your annual membership;

c. You have the minimum age of sixteen years and the maximum age of thirty years.

* = If you are not registered as a student at any higher education institution in the current calendar

year you are able to represent the city, or student sports board/organisation representing the city,

where you were registered the calendar year prior to the current calendar year.

Medal Table City Rankings

The highly coveted city ranking of the GNSK is determined using a traditional medal table, just like the one used in the Olympic Games. This document explains exactly how the ranking is established and how your city can earn points toward the overall victory. The city that finishes at the top will be awarded the title 'Student Sports City 2026'.

Implementation Regulations Placement

The pool allocation for GNSK 2026 is determined based on the historical performance of participating cities, in order to ensure a fair and balanced match schedule. This document explains exactly how the GNSK Ranking is calculated and how your team is assigned to a pool in the group stage. This way, we ensure that all skill levels are optimally distributed across the pools.
